Mozambique w/Taanteatro

Mozambique.jpg

Live Video Environment for two hour Dance-Theater piece directed by Taanteatro with dancers, musicians and singers from The Municipal Chant & Dance Company of Matola, Mozambique.

Much was learned on this trip about the struggles of creating art in a competitive political climate. There were very few easy moments in the intensly short development period with the Chant & Dance Company of Matola. The performance happend in the city's cultural center and the largest theater in the country, Theater Africa. Two days later it also aired as a special on National Television. In the end, art is worth the effort. If you can read Portugese get more details on Taanteatro's website "Xiphamanine"
